4 out of 5 stars

What Laptop found this netbook's light, slim design and almost 9-hour battery life perfect for those who are on-the-go. Despite the compact design, its keyboard and touchpad are roomy enough to comfortably use, while the bright screen is great for photo and video viewing. Although it falls slightly behind on storage, its performance and graphics are suitable for basic use.

Product tested: Aspire One D260-2Dkk

The Acer Aspire One D260 is an attractive looking netbook that offers a reasonable amount of processing power and a very remarkable battery life all for a good price. Computer Act!ve admit that it is not without some irritating flaws though, with a badly designed keyboard and trackpad, and excessive software bundled in.

Product tested: Aspire One D260-2Dkk

CNet drew the conclusion that the Acer Aspire One D260-2Dkk netbook is neither disappointing nor exciting. It delivers everything that you would expect of it and nothing more. It is very light and slim and has a sensible keyboard that is fine to use. The battery life is respectable and the screen has a resolution of 1024x600 which is pretty much bog standard. Apart from the lack of HDMI, there is good connectivity.

Product tested: Aspire One D260-2Dkk

Compared to the Acer Aspire One 532h, the D260 is a tidier and more attractive option for a netbook. PC Advisor commended the battery life for being great, and it has all the usual hardware and performance of a netbook but for an appealingly budget price. The touchpad is gesture-enabled and works admirably and the keyboard is excellent to type on.

Product tested: Aspire One D260-2Dkk

The Aspire One D260 is a slim netbook with a fantastic display. Expert Reviews were disappointed by the battery life though, saying it was not good enough for people who work on the go to make the D260 a first choice. The performance was proved in the benchmarks to be exactly the same as virtually any other netbook, so it is perfect for web browsing and office tasks.

"Editor's Choice"

Product tested: Aspire One D260-2Dkk

The Acer Aspire One D260 is great value for money and Register Hardware found it to have an amazingly decent battery life, though unfortunately the keyboard and touchpad were not so skillful. Due to a lack of removable panels on the underside, spur of the moment upgrades might be difficult.

Product tested: Aspire One D260-2Dkk

Although the Aspire One D260's specifications and battery life are the same as in most other netbooks, Trusted Reviews considered that its attractive design, good ergonomics and great value for money pushed it above the competition and made it worthy of a 'Recommended' award.
