More information at: TrustedReviews, 2/2008 ZyXEL NXC-8160 Businesses looking to deploy wireless networks are faced with a number of problems including access point (AP) placement to give the best coverage, the facilities to enable clients to roam freely across the entire wireless area and, of course, security. There are a wide range of solutions available but, as we saw in our review of Netgear's ProSafe Wireless Smart Controller, not all are as clever as they make out. ZyXEL's latest NXC-8160 Wireless Channel Blanket Controller takes a completely different path to the majority. … to review

NBG-318-S
ZyXEL NBG-318S

WLAN; Connectivity: Wired, Wireless; Newest review: 3/2008

"Does the ZyXel NBG318S make sense as a way to share multimedia? It isn't any less complicated than Wi-Fi, but it may be a better alternative in some situations."

1 review, 2 opinions (Excellent)

More information at: PC Advisor, 3/2008 ZyXel NBG318S Most routers give you two options for connecting a computer or printer to your network: ethernet and Wi-Fi. Ethernet is fast and dependable, but it isn't practical for going from room to room. Wi-Fi is slower and less reliable than ethernet. Neither is very good for transmitting internet-based multimedia content from a broadbandmodem at one end of your house to a TV at the other. The ZyXel NBG318S offers a third option: HomePlugAV. … to review

ZyXEL NBG-415N

WLAN; Connectivity: Wireless; Newest review: 6/2007

"The NBG-415n is so similar to the draft-n routers from SMC and TRENDnet that it’s worth shopping around for the best deal. Wireless performance is nothing to write home about ..."

More information at: TrustedReviews, 6/2007 ZyXEL NBG-415n draft-n Wireless Router ZyXEL has been so busy of late getting its fingers in other networking pies that it almost let the draft 802.11n high-speed wireless specification slip by. Every one of its competitors has brought product to market and now, well over six months since the first examples appeared from the likes of Netgear, D-Link and Linksys, it has finally released its own solution. The NBG-415n doesn’t impress in the LAN department as it delivers the standard quad of switched Fast Ethernet ports - something we’ve been questioning the value of in draft-n routers for some time. So far, only Netgear and D-Link have delivered Gigabit Ethernet with their respective WNR854T and DIR-655 routers. With a quoted 300Mbps wireless performance on tap ZyXEL’s Fast Ethernet ports will just cause a bottleneck between LAN and WLAN users. The NBG-415n also only provides an RJ-45 WAN port so you’ll need to source a separate cable or ADSL modem with an Ethernet port. … to review

More information at: ZDNet, 7/2007 ZyXEL ZyWALL SSL 10 ZyXEL's ZyWALL SSL 10 is an SSL VPN appliance aimed at small and medium-sized businesses, allowing secure remote access to files and applications on a company's network without manual installation of extra software. It can be used in place of or alongside an existing router or gateway, and offers an economical way to provide remote access to an office network. However, the hardware is somewhat limited, the licensing somewhat dubious and the management and user interfaces fixed and not necessarily easy to use. … to review

Product information and further reviews

ZyXel NXC-8160 PC Pro 3/2008 - ZyXel's latest wireless appliance aims to do away with the need to plan cell placement for client-roaming. The NXC-8160 Wireless Channel Blanket Controller is the result of an agreement with Extricom and, as its full moniker implies, takes a blanket approach, where all APs use the same wireless channel and clients can roam freely from one to another.

ZyXEL P-336M and M-102 TrustedReviews 10/2006 - ZyXEL has traditionally offered one of the largest ranges of wireless broadband routers but its latest P-336M signals a sea change in its product line as out go the dull blue boxes of the Prestige range and in come a raft of sleek silver slabs. Not only that but it also represents ZyXEL’s first MIMO wireless product.

ZyXEL P-660HW PC Advisor 9/2006 - The P-660HW may be at the budget end of ZyXEL's fairly extensive range of ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) 2+ broadband routers, but it doesn't skimp on features.

ZyXEL ZyAIR G-4100 Hotspot TrustedReviews 6/2006 - The increasing popularity of wireless hotspots has been driven by a demand for businesses such as hotels, restaurants, public houses and coffee shops to provide their customers with on-demand Internet access. There are plenty of solutions on the market but the majority of these are aimed are larger companies with in-house IT support. Smaller businesses that want to charge for these facilities aren’t so lucky as there are very few solutions that specifically target these users.
