"D-Link DKT-810 ADSL2/2+ Modem Router Starter Kit"

TrustedReviews
Published on: 8/2007
On test: D-Link DKT-810
D-Link has been busy with its wireless broadband routers and currently has one of the largest ranges on the market. Not content with this it’s now started to bundle them together into a family of starter kits designed to give you a leg up into the world of wireless networks. The DKT-810 kit brings together a DSL-2740B ADSL2/2+ modem router and DWA-140 wireless-n USB adapter and although this is nothing particularly special, D-Link wants to tempt you further by offering an eleven-year warranty on its wireless-n products. A nice idea but are you really going to be still using this package in 2018?    More

"The Links Effect: ADSL Wireless Draft-N Devices"

The heart of a wireless network is the router, which links all your wireless (and wired) devices together and connects them to your broadband service. There are two main types of wireless router: those with integrated ADSL modems and those without. If you receive ADSL though a USB modem, you need an ADSL modem router. If you have a cable modem that connects to your PC's Ethernet port or any other kind of Ethernet modem, a normal non-ADSL router will do. All the ADSL modem routers here support ADSL2+, so they can connect to 8Mbit/s or faster ADSL connections.    More
