Digital Pens

A digital pen should rest in the hand as comfortably as possible, since otherwise handwriting will suffer. Depending on the model, the recognition software's learning process can take up to 30 minutes. Upon completion of the writing process, the data is transmitted via Bluetooth or an USB interface.

"It's not platinum-plated, doesn't run on fountain ink and definitely won't be seen sealing any international peace treaties, but that doesn't mean the Livescribe Pulse isn't the most important pen you'll ever use. Read on for our full Livescribe Pulse review and see how the humble biro has been given a 21st century reboot." Review details: Single Test.    Test results

Issue 10/2009
On test: Apcom e-pens Create
"This device is designed to work in much the same way as a graphics tablet but without the need for a large sensor pad cluttering up your workspace. The E-pens works by attaching a sensor to the top of a sheet of plain A4 paper and then writing or drawing on the paper as normal; the results then appear on screen." "We recently looked at the ePens Mobile Notes, a digital pen that did away with 'digital paper', a significant advance over older devices like Logitech's io. Today, however, we're looking at the Livescribe Pulse Smartpen, which has reanimated this 'feature' as it works only with LiveScribe Dot paper." Review details: Single Test    Test results
