After the initial excitement over the Photo Mapping, PDA Essentials decided that the G800R wasn't that much of an all-round performer. Features were fairly limited and for all its wow factor, the magazine had to admit that the photo-realistic maps could be a it distracting while driving. A good proof-of-concept, but for now at least, road users may be better off sticking to more tried and tested PNDs.

Despite an overall feel of bringing nothing new to the party in terms of features, Personal Computer World felt that its satellite maps were interesting and could make the difference for a few consumers.

This GPS device seems like a great idea but as Pocket Lint points out, unless you know what the city looks like from above then you really can't gain anything from this mapping technology.
