The Apple MacBook Air was released to much fanfare, declaring it the thinnest and lightest laptop around. However, its specification left a startling amount to be desired. Lenovo's similarly thin and light X300 trumps the Air in many respects, not the least of which being its integrated optical drive where for the Air this must be purchased as a separate USB device, taking up the single solitary port on the machine.
