With almost the entire front section of the Lplayer being taken up by the LCD screen casual observers will be left wondering where the controls are. In fact, the whole of the front section is mounted on a four-way rocker to replicate iRiver's traditional D-pad interface. However, if, as seems to have been the case, this forgoing of the more voguish touchscreen interface has resulted in the player's attractive asking price, it can't be all bad.

Where it trumps Apple's product however, is in its expandable storage wherein its internal flash memory can be augmented by up to 32GB of extra space via Micro SDHC cards.
