Archos has produced some of the best quality portable media players we've ever seen. As you can imagine, when it announced it would be making a TV streaming product, we hoped its excellent work would continue.    More

The Linksys DMA2200 Media Center Extender is another device that streams music, videos and photos from your PC to your TV and hifi but, unlike so many others, it gives a great first impression.    More

You could listen to music, watch movies or browse digital photos on your PC, but the chances are that they'd look and sound a great deal better on a television screen. A media streaming device such as the DMP-1120w plugs in to the TV and connects to a home network (wired or wireless), so you can browse your media library from the sofa with the supplied remote control.    More

We recently looked at the Slingbox Pro, one of the latest in the line of devices that allow users to watch home television (including satellite and cable channels) anywhere in the world. The Slingbox Solo is a cut-down version of the same, with fewer features but including the same ability to connect a high-definition device such as a Sky HD box or even a Blu-ray player.    More

"Linksys DMA 2100 Media Center Extender"

The Living Room - it's the holy grail of computing. Indeed, much of Microsoft's strategy in recent years seems to have been focussed on getting the PC into the Living Room, be it through a Home Theatre PC (HTPC), Xbox 360 or a dedicated Media Center Extender. Unfortunately, its whole strategy has been a pretty mixed affair. PCs are generally considered too noisy for multimedia situations, as is the wind tunnel that is the Xbox 360, while previous Media Center Extenders (MCEs) were crippled by poor format support and sluggish performance. Never one to give up easily, though, Microsoft has once again partnered with Linksys to produce what Microsoft considers the third generation of MCEs, the Xbox 360 being the second, and Linksys' second effort in this arena. It aims to correct many of the problems encountered in past dedicated MCEs, while also being the first designed specifically with the much improved Vista Media Center in mind.    More
