Panasonic TX-L37G15E
"excellent" (5 out of 5 stars)
Panasonic's new Freesat TV, the TX-L37G15 gives a spectacular performance. DVD upscaling is also noteworthy and motion dealt with adeptly. For the price, it's certainly one to seriously consider if Freesat is a must, otherwise still worth a look, though the competition is tough.
1
Sony KDL-37W5500
"excellent" (5 out of 5 stars)
"Group Test Winner"
A comprehensive set of features comes together with splendid image reproduction. Strong contrast ability gives sharp whites, though blacks could go a little further. Colour is natural and rich, and altogether this is worthy of being the Supertest winner.
3
LG Electronics 37LF7700
"very good" (4 out of 5 stars)
LG's 37LF7700 LCD TV does display some issues reproducing motion accurately and colour saturation errs on the side of excess. A solid Freesat picture - the first from LG with this feature - and commendable audio make this one to consider if Freesat is a must.
3
Panasonic TX-P37X10E
"very good" (4 out of 5 stars)
Deep blacks, and competent handling of movement are countered with a struggle to render fine detail and naturalism in Panasonic's TX-P37X10E HD Ready Plasma TV. For those wanting Blu-ray, better will be found, but for any looking for excellent Freeview and DVD playback, this is splendid value.
3
Samsung LE-37B650
"very good" (4 out of 5 stars)
For Freesat pictures, Samsung's LE-37B650 doesn't give the best results, but connectivity is here in abundance and HD image quality is superb. Rich blacks, excellent depth and detail from both Blu-ray and DVD but others in the test are more assured all-rounders.
3
Sony Bravia KDL-37S5500
"very good" (4 out of 5 stars)
Colour rendition is the spectacular standout feature in Sony's KDL-37S5500. Natural and convincing for both Blu-ray and DVD as well as Freeview, only in the latter is there excess noise and detail is not always precise. for those on a budget this is certainly worth it.
7
Toshiba 37RV635D
"average" (3 out of 5 stars)
For the price the features make Toshiba's 37RV635D a not unattractive option, but the image quality really doesn't give enough to make this a standout. Noise, lack of clarity and lack of certainty with motion all leave this behind the class leaders.
