Sharp LC-19D1E
9 out of 10 points
"group test winner"
While not the brightest television set out there, the LC-19D1E impressed AV Review with its excellent picture performance and neat, slimline design. Connectivity was a little sparse with only one HDMI port but all in all, the Sharp won out thanks to deep black levels and fluid motion handling.
2
Toshiba 19AV505D
8 out of 10 points
AV Review liked the design of the 19AV505D and its performance with both high- and standard definition content didn't disappoint. Blacks were impressively deep and colours vibrant, the only things the Toshiba was lacking were a PC input and a true 16:9 aspect ratio, although its PC-like resolution was less of a problem than on the other sets.
3
Humax LGB-19DTT
6 out of 10 points
While the Humax performs tolerably well, with deeper-than-average black levels and good colour reproduction, the PC-monitor resolution leads to unsightly stretching of widescreen TV pictures. AV Review also felt the set was too dim to be used in brighter rooms and sound performance was weedy and weak, even for a smaller set such as this.
3
LG Electronics 19LG3000
6 out of 10 points
LG's 19LG3000 suffers the same stretching as the Humax set but suffers more when it comes to black levels and colour response. AV Review found it produced clear and detailed images but the strange colour cast means there are better TVs out there fro the money.
