Dell 113075% Register Hardware found the Dell 1130 to be the best value printer tested. Print costs are the lowest and the machine itself is a good price. The design is taken from the Samsung model and works well. Quality of print is variable, black text is thick and clear and greyscales show only slight banding, a few more shades of grey would be preferable. Photos have dither patterns. Epson AcuLaser M120065% Register Hardware were unhappy that the Epson Aculaser M1200 has no single-page feed, and no cover for the paper holder, so you will probably need to remove the paper and close the machine between uses. It has a compact but tall design. Print cost is only a tiny bit more than with the Dell. Quality is average, text prints well, but some dither shows on graphics and photos. more ... Canon i-Sensys LBP301060% Register Hardware feel that the Canon i-Sensys LBP3010 printer loses points on costs. It is the most expensive of the printers tested and the cost per page is a fraction higher than the others. The design is commendable though, particularly the tray cover, and it is a good compact size. Greyscales aren't as good as on other machines but the text print is thick and crisp. more ...
